— Day 1 —
1) Departure Marrakech
We’ll pick you up at your riad or hotel in Marrakech in the morning.
2) Our car heads for High Atlas
This tour is usually private. Our car will take you to High Atlas from the city!
3) Argan Oil Factory
In the mountains, ladies are processing argan oil by hand in a very traditional way. You can see how to make oil from argan nuts.
4) Lunch at the Top of the Moutains
Near Tichka, at the top of High Atlas mountains, we have lunch time. Tajine or couscous, enjoy Moroccan cuisine overlooking the moutains!
5) Visit Ait Ben Haddou
Ait Ben Haddou is a very traditonal Berber fortress village and UNESCO World Heritage site. Famous Hollywood movies were shot here, such as Gladiator or Lawrence of Arabia.
6) Overnight in Ouarzazate
Our first night is in Ouarzazate, at the entrance of the desert. Kasbah style hotel is popular here.
— Day 2 —
7) Stop by at Rose Valley, Kelaat M’Gouna
After departing Ouarzazate, we drive through Kasbah Road, a road with thousands of kasbahs. Kelaat M’Gouna is famous with its rose water, this is our fist stop of the day.
8) Visit Todra Gorge
Todra Gorge is know with its very steep rocks and you can find climbers on its almost vertical walls.
9) Lunch at Todra Gorge
After walking along the river between huge rocks, we have lunch in a restaurant with nice outdoor terrace.
10) Stop by at Erfoud Fossil Museum
Before going into the desert, we stop by at Erfoud where various kinds of fossils are found. Fossil trays or tables are precious local products.
11) Departure Point of Camel Trekking
Here we arrive in Merzouga, a town of desert. From one of the desert hotels, we start camel trekking.
12) Camel Trekking in the Desert
We have 1 to 2 hours camel trekking to the middle of the desert. Enjoy orange dunes around you, you are exactly in the middle of nowhere.
13) Overnight in Berber Tent
Berbers prepare a Tajine dinner. Look up in the dark sky, you are under the thousands of shining stars!
— Day 3 —
14) Enjoy Sunrise over the Dune
In the morning in the desert, don’t miss the sunrise coming over the dune. It’s a lifetime experience!
15) Breakfast in a Desert Hotel
After coming back to Merzouga town again with camel, you will have a hot shower and hot breakfast.So refreshing, you can prepare for the third day’s long driving.
16) Lunch in Midelt, an Apple City
After driving through amazing views of Ziz Valley, you have lunch Midelt City, which is know with its apples.
17) Stop by the Forest in Azrou
If you are lucky enough, you will see monkeys in the forest of Azrou. They are so friendly, they’ll come over to you to ask for food.
18) Arrive in Fez
Fez is our last stop. In the old medina, you will see many traditional buildings and in workers who keeps their traditional handicrafts for centuries.
